My work explores the themes and tensions between materiality and transcendence, chance encounters and human willfulness, relationships and connectivity, and the natural world and human acts of meaning making. Materially, my work takes many forms: drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, installation, social practice, and film.

Originally trained as a printmaker and bookbinder, I have a broad definition of what constitutes my practice. My time is divided between teaching, research, and creative activity: working both individually and in collaborative settings.
